Setting up your profile
Every time log in Tracer belongs to a user. Your profile is how Tracer knows which logs are yours, and how your colleagues can tell your logs apart from theirs when they combine data.
You only need to do this once per browser.
Creating your profile
- Click User Settings in the sidebar.
- If you have no profile yet, you see the message "No user profile found for this session". Click Create profile.
- Fill in the three fields:
- Display ID: a short identifier that is shown next to your logs, for example your initials such as
YH. - Full Name: your name as your colleagues will see it.
- Email: your email address.
- Display ID: a short identifier that is shown next to your logs, for example your initials such as
- Click Save changes.
If you are signed in to the NDX Platform, your name and email are filled in for you. You still need to enter a Display ID and save.
What happens if the profile is incomplete
The Save changes button stays disabled until all three fields have a value. A warning under the fields lists what is still missing.
Until your profile is saved with a Display ID, the other pages in Tracer show either "No user configured" or "No ID configured for your user", with an Open Settings button that takes you back to this page.
Changing your details later
You can come back to User Settings at any time to change your Display ID, name or email. An "Unsaved changes" label appears while you have edits that are not saved yet. Click Save changes to keep them.
Changing your details does not affect your existing logs. They stay linked to your profile.
